My love for photography, and my desire to make it my profession, began in the dark room in 2010, and 50+ weddings (and hundreds of family sessions) later, I still go back to those quiet moments where I began—just me, my camera, and a desire to create something beautiful.
Capturing Love in a way that will be remembered for generations is always my goal when photographing couples, weddings, or families. From the love a couple shares that leads them to marry, to the love that a mother has for her miracle rainbow baby, I will never tire of giving someone a preserved moment in time in the form of a photograph.
I am a southerner at heart (you can take the girl out of Savannah, but you can't take "The Savannah" out of the girl...and all that jazz), but have come to love the home that we have made in the North East. I enjoy traveling abroad and experiencing new cultures, but I am a homebody, through and through.
As the wife of a former Army Ranger, I will never forget the sacrifices our men + women in uniform make on a daily basis—your sacrifice has not gone unnoticed, and we are so grateful. I believe in love, and I am a LGTBQ ally. I believe in the power of women, and am a champion of female entrepreneurs and small, female-owned businesses like my own.
Shortly after my husband, Jared, and I were married in 2011, he left for six months of training with the Army. During that time, he could have very little communication with the outside world, and naturally, I got very lonely.
Since Jared wasn't there to discuss it, I hopped in my car and drove up to Carolina Poodle Rescue in search of the perfect companion. After meeting a couple of other dogs, they brought Gracie in to meet me. She jumped right up on the sofa beside me and put her paw on my arm. I knew right then that she was the girl for me. I'm so sad that things didn't work out with her previous owners, and horribly sad she was dumped at a kill shelter in Charlotte, NC, but so grateful that her path crossed mine.
So, here we are, 7 years, two more deployments, five moves, and a few pounds (for both of us) later, and I'm so glad she came in to my life that January day in 2012.

do you shoot indoors?
in short, yes, i love to photograph families and couples in their homes! that being said, i am a natural light photographer, and in order for me to achieve a cohesive look, there must be great light at our session location. in regards to weddings and receptions that are indoors/at night, i use the least amount of on/off camera lighting possible, but sometimes it is necessary for a well exposed image, and i come prepared for that.
what if you have never photographed a couple/family like mine, or at my venue?
even though i've been in business for nearly 10 years, occasionally this happens. your relationship, or family, may look different than mine, but that doesn't mean i'm not eager to help tell your story. i always arrive with enough time to thoroughly scout any new venues, and am excited to get to be creative in new locations.
are you insured?
yes! all of my equipment is insured, and i have liability insurance. i arrive to each session and wedding with backups of all equipment and digitally back up all files immediately following. your edited images will be available for purchase and download in their gallery for six months, after which time, i cannot guarantee backed up copies.
what kinds of things do you photograph?
i specialize in weddings + families, but love branding photography, lifestyle, and pets!
do you travel?
yes! i travel within the US and abroad. information regarding travel fees can be found in my pricing packets.
